Expansion into Russia
Our company first established a Limited Liability Company (LLC) “Nippon Express (St. Petersburg)” in July, 2006, and then changed its name to Nippon Express (Russia ) LLC in July, 2007. At the same time, the Moscow Branch for Nippon Express (Russia) opened for business.
At St. Petersburg, we handle automobile related transportation via St. Petersburg Port, which has been our gateway since we established this subsidiary. At our Moscow branch, we are committed to addressing our customer’s every need based on “3PL warehousing business” exploiting internally developed warehouse managing system REWARDS, “air and marine freight forwarding”, and our state of the art overseas removal operations.

The predominate method of commercial transportation to Russia has been to stock goods at an EU warehouse at either Kotka or Hamina port, both of which are close to the border between Finland and Russia, until a Russian agents collects the goods.
One of Nippon Express’s agents has a 30,000m2 warehouse at Kotka Port where we manage inventories for Non Resident Japanese Companies.
In addition, we use TIR carnet for clearing customs when delivering goods stocked at Finland’s warehouses to Russia.
