Fine Arts Transport

Over the years, Nippon Express has transported some of the world's most priceless treasures - works of art that almost everyone knows of, but only a fortunate few can enjoy directly. We've done this for precious pieces of our global heritage like a Statue of Liberty replica, the Venus de Milo, and the Mona Lisa. Transporting such one-of-a-kind masterpieces requires an unparalleled understanding of transportation technologies.

Among our more recent tasks has been the transport of the painting Liberty Guiding the People from the Louvre in Paris for a Japanese exhibition on France. This required the charter of a special Airbus Industrie Beluga aircraft, since the painting was too large to fit onto a standard jumbo jet. Our transport of valuable antiquities from Cambodia for an Angkor Wat exhibition involved the handling of delicate sandstone statues, which necessitated precise planning and extreme care.

Transporting such unique art objects, normally not even permitted to be touched by humans, requires professional packaging and handling techniques as well as requiring careful attention to vibration and climate control during transport. Our ability to transport these priceless objects at high altitudes without mishap has meant that art lovers around the world have been able to see the actual masterpieces, in many cases for the first time in their lives.
