Export B-to-B Goods
Background
We have developed an export B2B product that combines multiple shipping orders (invoices) for door-to-door direct delivery from Japan.
Given the need at destinations for stockless distribution and shorter lead-time than that for cargo warehoused, sorted, and then shipped to end users (dealers), we have created a new general-purpose product. This enables direct delivery to end users that employs consolidated transport of cargo for multiple end users from origin to destination gateway, thereby streamlining operations at the destination.
Operational Flow
(Example: shipping from Japan to an end user in Europe for Company S, a cellular phone manufacturer)
- An order is received from an overseas user, shipping data and in-house control labels for each delivery point are prepared at the origin, and the labels are affixed to the cargo.
- Multiple orders are combined into a single HAWB for each destination gateway from the airport in Japan. A high-speed product is used for air transport in such a case.
- The in-house control label number and the delivery company's invoice number are linked from the destination gateway.
- Based on the arrival schedule information received from the office at the origin, the cargo is delivered to recipients in accordance with the appointments made by the designated delivery company.
- Upon completion of delivery by the designated delivery company, a POD is obtained.
Benefits
- Combining multiple invoices from origin to destination gateway streamlines the procedures at both the origin and the destination and reduces transport costs.
- As the designated company will be making delivery appointments in advance based on arrival schedule information sent from the origin, stockless distribution at the destination is possible because the cargo will be delivered straight from the destination airport without being placed in stock.
- Affixing in-house control labels at the origin simplifies sorting after arrival and shortens lead time.
- Linking the invoice number of the transport company at the destination with Nippon Express' own control numbers enables us not only to freely select the most convenient distribution company but also to access information about the cargo via the Internet at any point from receiving to final delivery and confirm the cargo's location in real time.
