Warehouse completed in Penang, Malaysia

17 July 2002

Nippon Express' local company in Malaysia, Nippon Express (Malaysia) Co., Ltd. (President: TSUKURIMICHI Seiken), has recently completed construction of a warehouse for the Penang Branch in northern Malaysia.

Nippon Express Malaysia established the Penang Branch in 1985; this branch deals primarily with air cargo but also handles marine transportation and removals.

A resort area long famous as "the Pearl of the Orient," Penang has in recent years become host to the production bases of global corporations from around the world.

To meet the logistics needs of the companies expanding into the area, Nippon Express Malaysia has been consolidating its broadly scattered business locations and has constructed a new warehouse to provide high-quality service via entirely in-house operations.

The expansion of Penang International Airport will likely lead to further increases in the volume of cargo traffic, and the new Penang warehouse will be supported by the Nippon Express Group's network and information system so that it can serve customers as a global logistics base.
