Eastern Seaboard Branch completes construction of new warehouse in Thailand

Nippon Express (Thailand) Co., Ltd. (Yutaka Fujimoto, President), one of Nippon Express' subsidiaries in Thailand, recently completed construction of a new warehouse for its Eastern Seaboard Branch in southeastern Thailand and has opened the warehouse for business.

The Eastern Seaboard Branch was established in 1995 as an air cargo forwarding base, but as a general sales branch it now offers a broad range of services that extend beyond air cargo to encompass ocean cargo and moving service as well. The previous warehouse was too small to accommodate this expansion in services, so the company renovated its existing facilities and built a new warehouse offering approximately 4.4 times the space of the earlier one.

This branch is located in the Eastern Seaboard Industrial Estate, one of Asia's largest production bases, boasting facilities from 134 companies (including 70 Japanese firms) primarily from the automotive industry. Nippon Express is the only Japanese forwarder with an office in this industrial estate.

The expansion of the Nippon Express Group into Thailand began with the opening of a representative office in April 1968; the Group presently has 5 companies with 18 locations in the country.
