Nippon Express further expands its business operations in China

Since June of this year Nippon Express (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. (head office: Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province; Katsuyosh Usami, President), one of Nippon Express' local subsidiaries in China, has established new business locations in the cities of Changshu and Nantong in Jiangsu Province, and similarly Uni Sky Express Service Co., Ltd. (head office: Beijing, Takeki Yamaguchi, President), has opened new offices in the cities of Nanjing in Jiangsu Province and Yantai in Shandong Province. Both companies are seeking to bolster their sales and service structures within the region.

Established in 2002 in Suzhou City and capitalized entirely by the Nippon Express Group, Nippon Express (Suzhou) has focused its business activities on the rapidly growing economy of Jiangsu Province. Primarily targeting Japanese OA equipment and electronic component manufacturers, NE Suzhou offers warehousing services at the 10,000m2 warehouse it completed this year and has extended the scope of its operations into milk-run distribution and in-factory logistics in cooperation with Shanghai Express International Co., Ltd., another Nippon Express Group company. NE Suzhou is aiming to provide more closely tailored services by establishing offices in Changshu and Nantong and stationing personnel at the offices of Japanese manufacturers in the area, and is hoping to acquire motor transport authorization in the near future to help it further expand its business.

Uni Sky Express Service was founded in Beijing in 1995 and is licensed as an international cargo transport agent. Taking full advantage of being able to do business throughout China, Uni Sky handles international forwarding of air and ocean cargo, warehousing and domestic truck transport, making it a core company for the Nippon Express Group in China. Its new office in Nanjing will offer customer service for local and nearby customers and enhance its sales of import/export forwarding services accompanying the expansion of international airline routes to Nanjing Airport. In Yantai, Uni Sky is targeting companies in the food and automobile industries to increase its ocean cargo business and is seeking to expand air cargo service sales by utilizing the Yantai-Kansai Airport and the Yantai-South Korea routes. In April of this year Uni Sky opened an office in Wuhan in China's interior, and will follow this up in the near future with new locations in the Zhongxi and Dongbei regions to improve its ability to meet the logistics needs of a broad range of customers in China.

These new business locations bring the Nippon Express sales network in China to 17 companies and 58 locations in 21 cities as of the end of September.

Around mid-November of this year Nippon Express will be founding a new company in the Jiaxing City to serve as the Group's second base in Zhejiang Province after Hangzhou City. This company will provide logistics support inside and outside the factories of chemical manufacturers setting up operations in this district, and will subsequently seek to increase sales to surrounding districts into which chemical and electronics manufacturers are expected to expand.
