Nippon Express subsidiary opens office in Wuhan, Hubei Province
5 March 2004
Nippon Express has been expanding its business network in China along the country's coastal regions, but one of Nippon Express' local subsidiaries - Uni Sky Express Service Co., Ltd. (head office: Beijing, China; Takeki Yamaguchi, President) - recently established an office in Wuhan (Hubei Province), the Group's first office in inland China. This new location opened for business on March 1 staffed by one full-time local employee.
Japanese automotive manufacturers have moved aggressively into Wuhan and vicinity in recent years, and associated parts manufacturers and other manufacturing companies have also been active in setting up local operations. Wuhan is a strategic point for both north-south and east-west traffic in China, and is attracting much attention as a production and sales base due to its favorable geographic location.
The opening of this new office expands Nippon Express' network in China to 14 subsidiaries and 53 offices. Nippon Express intends to make full use of these locations to provide even more robust support for the logistics operations of its customers.
