Nippon Express opens new logistics facility near Bangkok, Thailand

Hi-Tech Nittsu (Thailand) Co., Ltd. (Akio Sudo, President), one of Nippon Express' local subsidiaries in Thailand, has built and opened a new logistics facility - the Bangkok Logistics Center - in a general industrial zone in Bangna, Thailand.

Located about 30km southeast of central Bangkok, the Bangkok Logistics Center (BLC) is within easy reach of a number of industrial estates serving the automobile and other industries, the new Suvarnabhumi International Airport currently under construction (and scheduled to open in September 2005), and the Ladkrabang Inland Container Depot, an inland depot for ocean cargo. The BLC is favorably located as a distribution point for the enormous consumer base comprising the urban districts of Bangkok, and is thus regarded by Nippon Express as a key location for handling Thailand's growing domestic and international cargo traffic.

Hi-Tech Nittsu (Thailand) presently owns warehouses boasting a total area of 27,000m2 in an export processing zone in Ayutthaya and in the export processing and general industrial zones of Laem Chabang Industrial Estate, and it offers such services as import/export ocean cargo forwarding, domestic and international truck/rail transport, warehousing, and logistics processing. The new BLC is now part of a system designed to respond even better to the logistics needs of client companies. Hi-Tech Nittsu (Thailand) will coordinate with other members of the Nippon Express Group in Thailand - Nippon Express (Thailand) Co., Ltd. (primarily air cargo, removals, and consolidated ocean cargo; 11,500m2 of warehouse space), Nippon Express Engineering Thailand Co., Ltd. (heavy equipment transport), and Nittsu Shoji Thailand Co., Ltd. (packing operations) - to provide total logistics services that enhance customer satisfaction.
