Nippon Express to Open New Logistics Hub in Kansai International Airport

21 November 2005

With the recent completion by Kansai International Airport Co., Ltd., of cargo handling facilities within the international cargo zone of Kansai International Airport, Nippon Express will be switching its lease from the locations it currently occupies (International Cargo Agents Building No. 3, etc.) to the new facilities, and will open a new Nippon Express KIX (Kansai International Airport) High-Speed Logistics Hub on November 28.

Offering about 2.4 times the effective cargo handling space of the Company's present locations, the new Logistics Hub will be operated by Nippon Express as a dedicated facility; two ULD workstations will be installed and a proprietary import/export ULD operation system put in place. Nippon Express will take advantage of the Hub's favorable location along the airport ramp as well as Kansai International Airport's 24-hour-a-day operations to improve the quality of cargo handling and reduce lead time.

The opening of this new Logistics Hub in Kansai International Airport, following as it does the start-up of Narita Airport Logistics Center No. 3 and the Chubu Airport Logistics Center in January of this year, marks the fulfillment of Nippon Express' plans to augment its facilities in the three major international airports in Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka.

Nippon Express will continue to provide rapid high-quality logistics services and to expand its air cargo operations in seeking to more precisely meet the needs of its customers.
