Nippon Express opens new offices in Istanbul and Moscow

Nippon Express Co., Ltd., has decided to open representative offices in Istanbul in the Republic of Turkey and in Moscow in the Russian Federation. These two new offices will bring Nippon Express Group's overseas network to 301 business locations in 176 cities in 36 countries.

Nippon Express (Deutschland) GmbH (Keiichi Nakatani, Managing Director) established the Istanbul Representative Office just this month. Many Japanese companies, particularly companies in the automotive industry, have expanded operations into Turkey, deemed a key location in the Nippon Express Group's "pan-Europe strategy" because of the country's strong economic ties to Europe.

The Moscow Representative Office will be opened by the end of May and will report directly to the Nippon Express Head Office. Russia's economic growth in recent years has led to a substantial expansion of trade between Japan and Russia, and the representative office will offer local liaison functions for the rapidly rising number of Japanese manufacturers operating in the country and will collect business information and conduct market research.

Nippon Express revamped its overseas removals sales efforts in January of this year and, in addition to the two countries discussed above, the Company is also assigning Japanese sales staff to coordinate overseas removals in Vietnam and India, where the growing presence of Japanese companies has led to an increase in the number of Japanese residents. This step will allow Nippon Express to provide higher quality removals services directly linked to Japan.

The Nippon Express Group will continue expanding and improving its overseas network to further strengthen its customer support system in such areas as corporate logistics and overseas removals.
