Nippon Express Facility near Seoul Receives TAPA Class A Certification

NEX Global Logistics Korea Co., Ltd., a Nippon Express subsidiary in South Korea, was notified on December 4 that its Shihwa Warehouse, an in-house logistics center situated within the Shihwa Industrial Complex (located adjacent to Seoul in Siheung City, Kyunggi Province), had been awarded Class A certification by TAPA for meeting that organization's world-recognized security standards for air cargo handling. The Shihwa Warehouse became the 17th location in the Nippon Express Group network to be certified by TAPA.
TAPA is the acronym for the Technology Asset Protection Association, a non-profit association of security professionals and security managers at high-tech and household appliance companies that was founded in the US in 1997 and began operations in Europe in 1999. The standards established by TAPA are also used to improve the level of safety in the transport industry, and they are regarded worldwide as the premier guidelines for practical security and safety methodology. Clients, especially those in high-tech industries, have come to demand that transport companies also satisfy TAPA standards.
TAPA offers three levels of certification with increasingly strict requirements from Class C to Class A. NEX Global Logistics Korea's Class A certification serves as recognition of the high quality of its warehousing operations for automobiles, digital cameras, and semiconductors.
The Nippon Express Group will continue to utilize its proprietary warehouse receiving/shipping inventory control system REWARDS to meet the diverse needs of customers in South Korea, whose hi-tech industry is enjoying remarkable growth and where the transport/storage safety standards demanded by companies are rising day by day.
