NEU Opens Rickenbacker Air Cargo Office in Columbus, Ohio

14 July 2006

Nippon Express U.S.A., Inc. (NEU; Tadaaki Hashimoto, President), a wholly owned subsidiary of Nippon Express Co., Ltd., on June 1 opened a new business location at Rickenbacker Airport in Columbus, Ohio, that began full-scale operations this month.

The Columbus Branch in Grove City has thus far been providing ocean cargo, removals, and logistics services as well as air cargo services in the Columbus area, but growing volume prompted the transfer of air cargo operations to Rickenbacker Airport, 20 miles south of Columbus.

The new Rickenbacker Air Cargo Office is located on the airport premises and has direct access to the airport ramp. Although there are no regularly scheduled direct flights from Japan at present, the Office provides an extremely convenient location for the handling of air charter flights in the Midwest during busy times, enabling Nippon Express to provide quick and quality service for urgent cargo shipments and meet a full range of other customer needs.

Many major Japanese automotive and automotive parts companies have expanded into the Columbus area, and NEU will utilize this Air Cargo Office to satisfy the new needs of customers and expand its cargo handling.

This latest addition to NEU brings the total number of business locations in the US to 55 locations in 45 cities, and the total for the Nippon Express Group worldwide to 320 locations in 189 cities in 37 countries.
