Nippon Express Strengthens Business Operations in Central/Eastern Europe

19 October 2006

Branch office opened in Poland

Nippon Express Deutschland GmbH (President: Katsumi Sato), a Group subsidiary in Germany, opened a Poland Branch in Warsaw in the Republic of Poland on October 1, 2006. This branch brings the NE Group's overseas network to 333 business locations in 194 cities in 37 countries.

Among the Central and Eastern European countries such as Hungary and the Czech Republic that joined the EU in May 2004, Poland has enjoyed particularly high levels of investment by companies in the automotive and electronics industries. Nippon Express opened a representative office in the city of Wroclaw in March 2006, putting in place a system for meeting the logistics needs of Japanese and European/American companies. Opening a Poland Branch in the capital city of Warsaw will enhance the Group's efforts to meet diversifying logistics needs for customers throughout the country.
