NE Group Establishes Domestic Distribution Warehousing Company in Philippines

19 October 2006

The Nippon Express Group, via its Philippine subsidiary NEP Logistics Inc. (head office: Binan, Laguna; president: Naoyoshi Koji), has established a new company - NEP Distributors System, Inc. - that opened for business on October 2. This new company will handle third-party logistics operations, demand for which has risen in recent years.

Business development in the Philippines has previously been pursued through a two-company structure consisting of Nippon Express Philippines Co., Ltd., engaged in import/export forwarding operations, and NEP Logistics Inc., responsible for warehousing and trade operations within a special economic zone. The establishment of this new company, however, will enable high-quality operations to be offered through trilateral collaboration and will contribute to the development of the worldwide networks demanded by global companies.

This latest addition to the Nippon Express Group brings its overseas network to 333 business locations in 194 cities in 37 countries, and its Asian network to 165 business locations in 81 cities in 12 countries.
