Nippon Express (Deutschland) Opens Office in Poland

28 February 2006

Company's Third Business Location in Central/Eastern Europe

On March 1 of this year, Nippon Express' German subsidiary Nippon Express (Deutschland) Gmbh (Katsumi SATO, President) will open an office in the Polish city of Wroclaw. This new office will bring the Nippon Express Group's overseas network to 312 business locations in 183 cities in 37 countries.

Poland joined the EU in May 2004 alongside the Czech Republic, Hungary and other Central/Eastern European countries and, boasting the largest population (38 million) of the ten new members, has garnered considerable attention both as a consumer market and a manufacturing base.

Nippon Express (Deutschland) set up a Budapest Branch in Hungary in 2000 and a Prague Branch in the Czech Republic in 2002, and the Poland Office will be its third business location in Central/Eastern Europe. More than 70 Japanese companies have already established a presence in Poland, and the new Poland Office was established to meet the full range of logistics needs of these Japanese companies and their European and American counterparts.
