NE Singapore Facility Receives TAPA Class A Certification

Nippon Express Singapore Pte Ltd. (Takao Miyamoto, Managing Director), a Nippon Express Group subsidiary, was notified on August 6 that its Logistics Center situated within the Airport Logistics Park of Singapore (FTZ) adjacent to Changi Airport had been awarded Class A certification by TAPA.

TAPA is the acronym for the Transported Asset Protection Association, a non-profit association whose aims are improved cargo transport safety and asset protection for high value-added goods. TAPA grants certification to logistics facilities satisfying its TAPA Freight Security Requirements (FSR), regarded worldwide as the premier guidelines for practical security and safety methodology. Clients, especially those in high-tech industries, have come to demand that the transport companies they use meet TAPA standards.

TAPA offers three levels of certification with increasingly strict requirements from Class C to Class A. NE Singapore's Class A certification serves as recognition of the high quality of its local warehousing operations for digital cameras, semiconductors and other goods.

NE Singapore will continue to utilize its TAPA Class A-certified state-of-the-art warehouse facility as well as Nippon Express' proprietary warehouse receiving/shipping inventory control system REWARDS in pro-actively meeting the diverse needs of customers.

NE Singapore's Logistics Center is the 18th location in the Nippon Express Group network to be certified by TAPA. Nippon Express will be working to acquire TAPA certification at other locations as part of its endeavors to ensure high-quality service.
