"Cho-Soku! Shanghai" high-speed air transport service to Shanghai launched

28 February 2007

Lead-time shortened by 24 hours

From March 1 Nippon Express will begin sales of "Cho-Soku! Shanghai," a high-quality, high-speed air transport service product utilizing the Company's ULD intact(*1) service.

"Cho-Soku! Shanghai" speeds up operations at origin and destination to a maximum, shrinking lead time by 24 hours (vis-a-vis other Nippon Express products) by using late-night flights offered by ANA & JP Express ("AJV") from Haneda Airport and Kansai International Airport (five weekly).

This new service will allow even cargo conveyed at nighttime to Nippon Express facilities (container freight stations) at Baraki, Chiba or Kansai International Airport to be cleared through customs and loaded aboard a late-night AJV flight that same day.

Upon arrival at Shanghai's Pudong International Airport, cargo will be conveyed directly to a Nippon Express import bonded warehouse operated round-the-clock by a local NE subsidiary. Electronic data interchange (EDI) with Shanghai Customs reduces the time needed for customs clearance and makes it possible for goods to be delivered to Shanghai to nearby locations such as Suzhou and Wuxi on the same day their flight arrives.

The higher quality service that this product offers is also attributable in part to the through transportation of cargo in ULD units from the CFS at origin to the CFS at destination.

Nippon Express continues to improve the quality of its services and reduce lead time in meeting the diverse logistics needs of its customers.
