Nippon Express renames Russian subsidiary, opens new branch in Moscow

Nippon Express has changed the name of Nippon Express (St. Petersburg) LLC, established in July 2006, to Nippon Express (Russia) LLC, and has at the same time set up a Moscow Branch for Nippon Express (Russia) that opened for business on July 1.

In June 2005 a Moscow Representative Office was created to gather information on the logistics business and conduct market surveys in Russia and other CIS countries. Russia's rapid economic growth has led to a substantial upsurge in trade between Japan and Russia in recent years, and Nippon Express has opted to open a Moscow Branch to more precisely meet the logistics needs arising from anticipated increases in the number of companies expanding their operations into Russia.

From the outset Nippon Express (St. Petersburg) primarily handled automobile-related transport operations via the gateway port of St. Petersburg but, with the establishment of the new branch in Moscow, it has been renamed Nippon Express (Russia) to reflect its status as the Nippon Express Group subsidiary responsible for operations throughout Russia.

The Moscow Branch will seek to meet the full range of logistics needs, with emphasis on air/ocean cargo forwarding operations (particularly 3PL and warehouse distribution operations) and high-quality overseas removals operations utilizing Nippon Express' proprietary REWARDS warehouse management system.
