Nippon Express Establishes New Subsidiary in Dubai, UAE

30 January 2007

Nippon Express has established a new subsidiary - Nippon Express (Middle East) L.L.C. - in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE) scheduled to open for business on February 1.

Anticipating a future depletion of its crude oil resources, Dubai has been endeavoring in recent years to improve its service industries. The start of construction on a large-scale airport in Dubai is among the enhancements being made to logistics infrastructure, and Dubai is expected to see considerable development in future as a major transit point not only for the Middle East, but also for countries in Asia, the CIS, East Africa and Europe.

The Nippon Express Group first established a presence in the region in 2005 with the opening of a representative office. Through the new subsidiary in Dubai, the Group will provide high-quality transport and customer service tailored to the logistics needs of Japanese and European/American companies, meeting these needs with comprehensive land, sea, and air logistics services.

This newest subsidiary brings the Nippon Express Group's overseas network to 333 locations in 195 cities in 37 countries.
