IT Promotion Division acquires ISO27001 Information Security Management Systems certification

On March 7, Nippon Express' Information Technology Promotion Division, which oversees the Company's information systems, obtained ISO/IEC27001:2005 (international standard) and JIS Q 27001:1006 (domestic standard) certification in Information Security Management Systems (ISMS).
The IT Promotion Division is responsible for planning, developing, operating and managing information systems for motor transport, railway forwarding, removals and other logistics services as well as personnel, accounting and other administrative systems, and for constructing, operating and managing the infrastructure supporting these systems. The Division also handles a broad range of customer and corporate information.
This certification offers objective acknowledgement that the Company's information security management is functioning properly as an integral part of the Company's operations.
By maintaining and enhancing its highly reliable and sophisticated information security approaches, the Company seeks to create new value as a logistics company and justify the trust of customers as it provides high-quality logistics services.
The IT Promotion Division is the fourth organization in the Nippon Express Group to earn ISO27001 certification (the other certified organizations are listed below, together with the dates of their initial certification).

[ISMS Conformity Assessment System]
ISMS is a third-party conformity assessment system for internationally compatible information security management by which companies not only develop and implement individual security measures but also make risk assessments of their own organizations, decide on the levels of security needed, formulate plans, allocate resources, and administer information security systems. The certification standard in current use is JIS Q 27001:2006(ISO/IEC 27001:2005).
