-- Begins logistics operations at Shiseido Vietnam factory --
Nippon Express (Vietnam) Co., Ltd. ("NE Vietnam"; Masakazu Shirai, President), a local subsidiary of Nippon Express Co., Ltd. (Masanori Kawai, President), has begun providing in-factory logistics operations for the Shiseido Vietnam Inc. production facility completed on February 2, 2010 in the Amata Industrial Park in southern Vietnam.
Utilizing Nippon Express' global inventory control system REWARDS, NE Vietnam will perform a full range of logistics operations on the factory premises: cargo receiving and storage, shipping/receiving of samples, distribution of materials to production lines, and shipping of finished products.
With test production currently underway at the newly-completed factory, only partial logistics operations are being provided. Once full production begins, however, approximately 30 NE Vietnam staff will be assigned full-time to the factory to offer a robust system to sustain production activities. Shipments of finished products will use NE Vietnam's VSIP Warehouse(*) on the outskirts of Ho Chi Minh City as a temporary storage point.
In setting up logistics operations at this factory, NE Vietnam has enjoyed access to a global support system that horizontally extends Nippon Express' wealth of know-how by training NE Vietnam staff in Japan and by dispatching to Vietnam staff from NE Hong Kong well-versed in REWARDS.
Vietnam will continue to grow as a production base and a consumer market, and accordingly NE Vietnam is committed to further enhancing its high-quality logistics services in order to meet the diverse and sophisticated needs of its customers.
