Nippon Express opens Guanajuato Logistics Center in central Mexico
March 29, 2013
Nippon Express de Mexico S.A. de C.V. (“NE Mexico”; Tadahiro Furue, President), a subsidiary of Nippon Express Co., Ltd. (Kenji Watanabe, President), recently established a Guanajuato Logistics Center within the Guanajuato Inland Port area of Silao, Guanajuato, and will begin operations there on April 1.
Situated in the central Mexican state of Guanajuato, the city of Silao has seen remarkable inroads by the automobile industry in recent years. The Guanajuato Inland Port area encompasses the Guanajuato International Airport, the Silao Railway Terminal, the Inland Customs Office, and the Santa Fe Industrial Parks, and its favorable access to surrounding cities (Leon, Salamanca, Celaya, etc.) will undoubtedly further its development as a key logistics junction in central Mexico.
With this new Center, NE Mexico will be able to address local logistics needs, particularly the rapidly growing need for automotive-related logistics in central Mexico, provide VMI, JIT and other high-quality logistics services utilizing Nippon Express’ REWARDS global inventory control system, and function as a maintenance service parts center for customer production facilities.
NE Mexico will also seek to strengthen its collection/delivery network in the area and enhance scheduled truck transport routes linking Nippon Express locations across Mexico.
The new Guanajuato Logistics Center brings the Nippon Express Group’s network in Mexico to eight locations in eight cities. Nippon Express is committed to further improving its services and expanding its overseas network in order to meet the increasingly diverse and sophisticated logistics needs of its customers.
