July 3, 2017

-- Under the rubric of Nippon Express’ Global CSR --

Nippon Express (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. ("NE Shanghai"; Masaru Okano, President), and Nippon Express Korea Co., Ltd. ("NE Korea"; Yukio Hayashi, President), both subsidiaries of Nippon Express Co., Ltd. (Mitsuru Saito, President), have been participating in tree-planting activities as part of Nippon Express' Global CSR.

On Sunday, June 4, NE Shanghai employees and their families as well as regular customers and trade union members from the Shanghai Pilot Free Trade Zone were among 70 or so participants in a tree-planting effort held under the banner of "Putting Small and Big Hands Together and Creating a Green Earth with Paired Hands!" These volunteers planted 15 trees on a farm in Pudong Nanhui District (Shanghai).

Participants in Seoul tree-planting effort

On Saturday, May 20, volunteers from NE Korea joined in planting 1000 trees at Noeul Park in Seoul. From 2015 NE Korea has been a regular participant in tree-planting activities in a part of the park named "The Forest that Brings Hope".

Since January 2015 the Nippon Express Group has been pursuing greenification efforts at its offices worldwide, with individual Group companies also undertaking environmental conservation and CO2 reduction efforts in keeping with local circumstances, as part of Nippon Express' Global CSR, and these endeavors by NE Shanghai and NE Korea are just the latest examples of such efforts.

The Group will continue actively contributing to global environmental conservation as a good corporate citizen cognizant of its social and public missions.
