NEX Logistics Indonesia constructing new warehouse in Gobel Industrial Estate

PT. NEX Logistics Indonesia (Tetsuji Yonaiyama, President), a local subsidiary of Nippon Express Co., Ltd. (Mitsuru Saito, President), held a ground-breaking ceremony on Wednesday, January 24 for a new warehouse to be erected in the Gobel Industrial Estate in Bekasi (West Java State).

Indonesia's economic development in recent years has led to expectations of vigorous domestic consumption of durable consumer goods by a middle class with purchasing power, requiring companies to bolster their sales networks in the Jakarta metropolitan area. Customer sales channels are being fully enhanced not only in urban areas on Java Island but on other islands as well.

Manufacturing in Indonesia is likely to shift further toward the production of semi-finished and finished products for overseas markets.

The Gobel Industrial Estate lies adjacent to central Jakarta, where further growth is anticipated, and its location near the key port of Tanjung Priok and Soekarno-Hatta International Airport will give it the ability to flexible address.

NEX Logistics Indonesia decided to build a new location to address the full range of logistics needs among customers in the area, including air/ocean cargo forwarding, domestic sales logistics, manufacturing logistics (just-in-time delivery), refrigerated/frozen storage, and temperature-controlled transport.

Nippon Express is committed to strengthening its logistics functions in the growing South Asia Region, and will strive to satisfy all customer needs and further expand its global logistics business.
