Nippon Express (South Asia & Oceania) Pte. Ltd. (Shinjiro Takezoe, Managing Director), a local subsidiary of Nippon Express Co., Ltd. (Mitsuru Saito, President), held a ceremony in Vientiane, the capital of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, on Wednesday, September 12 to mark the opening of both its Vientiane and Savannakhet branches.
Present among the 80 or so guests at the opening ceremony were Japanese Ambassador to Laos Takeshi Hikihara and Chairman Kazuki Furutani of the Japanese Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Vientiane, as well as representatives from Japanese customer and partner companies operating in Laos; attending from Nippon Express were Executive Vice President Yutaka Ito, and Executive Officer Shinjiro Takezoe, Regional General Manager, South Asia & Oceania Region.
The Vientiane and Savannakhet branches, both of which began operations on Monday, July 2 of this year, offer on-site supervision of overseas removals and commercial cargo transport operations, quality guidance, local inspection support for customers, coordination with local agents and consultations on other logistics services.
After thanking the guests at the opening ceremony, Nippon Express Executive Vice President Ito asserted that "the Vientiane and Savannakhet branches will strive to assist customers' businesses through logistics and become a driving force for social development in Laos via their business endeavors."
Nippon Express is working to ensure that it has in place systems capable of meeting customer needs in Laos and across the South Asia region, both of which are expected to see increasing growth, and will thus be upgrading its logistics functions in order to further expand its global logistics business.
