Nippon Express Europe hosts business reception in Kenya

Nippon Express Europe GmbH (Shigeru Umino, President), a local subsidiary of Nippon Express Co., Ltd. (Mitsuru Saito, President), hosted a business reception in the Kenyan capital of Nairobi on Tuesday, February 6.

Attending the business reception were around 100 guests, including Japanese Ambassador to Kenya Toshitsugu Uesawa, Cabinet Secretary Adan Mohamed of Kenya's Ministry of Industry, Trade & Cooperatives, and representatives from customers and partner companies of Japanese firms, as well as Yutaka Ito, Executive Vice President, and Shigeru Umino, Executive Officer and Regional General Manager, Europe Region, from Nippon Express.

Opened in August 2017 as Nippon Express' first business location in Africa, the Kenya Branch is engaged in import and export air/ocean cargo forwarding, customs clearance, warehousing, domestic transport, and removals (both international and within Kenya).

The business reception featured briefings on the business activities of Nippon Express and the Kenya Branch, and numerous business discussions took place at the booths set up to field inquiries about refrigerated/frozen transport services, logistics issues, and removals services.

Nippon Express is striving to put in place a structure that will enable it to meet the needs of customers in Kenya and the rest of East Africa, a region projected to enjoy increasing growth, and to further extend its global logistics operations by actively expanding and developing its business network.
