Nippon Express Canada opens Halifax Office

Nippon Express Canada Ltd. (Yutaka Nakazawa, Director; hereinafter, "NE Canada"), a local subsidiary of Nippon Express Co., Ltd. (Mitsuru Saito, President), has opened a Halifax Office in the southeastern Canadian province of Nova Scotia that began business operations on June 1.

A major center for fishery products such as fish and shellfish, Halifax serves as a major hub for the distribution of fishery products via Halifax Port and Halifax Stanfield International Airport.

The volume of containers handled at Halifax Port (560,000 TEU) and the volume of export air cargo handled at Halifax International Airport (34,000 tons) in FY2017 both set record highs, and future increases in the cargo handled at these facilities are anticipated.

In opening an office in this area, NE Canada is seeking to provide optimal transport services to customers, primarily targeting companies in the fishery products industry.

This Halifax Office is the company's eighth business location in Canada.

Nippon Express will continue expanding and enhancing its services to meet a variety of logistics needs and to "create new ideas and value that expand the field of logistics" as advocated in the Nippon Express Group Corporate Philosophy.
