Nippon Express de Mexico consolidates transport and customs clearance operations in Port of Manzanillo

More precise and prompt customer service made possible through centralized control in port zone

Nippon Express de Mexico S.A. de C.V. ("NE Mexico"; Tadahiro Furue, President), a subsidiary of Nippon Express Co., Ltd., in April 2015 consolidated the cargo transport and customs clearance operations previously carried out separately at NE Mexico's eight locations into the Manzanillo Operation Center opened in Mexico's Port of Manzanillo.

By centralizing cargo transport and customs clearance operations at a single port location, NE Mexico is now able to more precisely and promptly confirm the status of cargo being transported or being handled in port.

The Port of Manzanillo, located in Manzanillo, Colima, functions as a key ocean transport gateway on Mexico's Pacific coast. With a growing number of companies from the automotive industry moving into the country, the volume of cargo handled at Manzanillo Port has increased, leading to chronic congestion.

NE Mexico has been diversifying transport modes and reducing transport time for cargo heading into and out of Mexico by, for instance, opening a San Luis Potosi Logistics Center and a Salamanca Sales Office last November and launching a consolidation service for cargo bound for Mexico's Central Highlands on May 27.

As Mexico continues to enjoy remarkable growth, Nippon Express will strive to meet diversifying logistics needs, further improve its level of service and expand its networks.
