NIPPON EXPRESS (TAIWAN) CO., LTD. ("NE Taiwan"; Masaaki Imamura, Chairman & CEO), a subsidiary of Nippon Express Co., Ltd. (Kenji Watanabe, President), opened its Middle Formosa International & Trusty Terminal (MITT) Warehouse* in Chiayi County, Taiwan on December 9, 2014 and, having become the first Japanese forwarder in south-central Taiwan to obtain an International Logistics Center (ILC) license, began operations at this new facility.

The ILC license (Note 1) is a qualification required to carry out logistics processing that cannot be performed at a general bonded warehouse, and the recently opened MITT Warehouse will offer high-level logistics services such as parts processing and JIT delivery to the manufacturing facilities (bonded factories) of precision equipment makers.
Situated on a 29,389m2 lot and featuring 17,464m2 in floor space, the MITT Warehouse is equipped with heavy-duty quake-resistant racks, docking booths for up to 32 vehicles, and a security system utilizing infrared sensors. This newest facility now brings the number of Nippon Express Group locations in Taiwan to 15, among them four warehouses offering a total floor space of 47,279m2.
This addition follows the March 2014 opening of the large-scale NEXT Warehouse in Taoyuan City in northern Taiwan. By enhancing its operational capabilities in south-central Taiwan, NE Taiwan is endeavoring to further improve its level of service and expand its network to better meet the increasingly sophisticated logistics needs of customers.
