Nittsu Logistics (Thailand) Co., Ltd. (Kazuhiro Tazawa, President; hereinafter, "NL Thailand"), a subsidiary of Nippon Express Co., Ltd. (Mitsuru Saito, President), held a ground-breaking ceremony on Thursday, November 30 to mark the start of construction of its new warehouse in the Amata Nakorn Industrial Estate, located in eastern Thailand's Chonburi Province.

The Thai government's "Thailand 4.0" national strategy is expected to generate greater economic growth along the country's eastern coast. Amata Nakorn Industrial Estate, the site of the new warehouse, is located in an area being developed as part of the Eastern Economic Corridor, a new special economic zone on Thailand's eastern coast(*1), and thus further expansion can be expected.
The industrial estate is one of the largest in Thailand. More than 700 companies, 70% of which are Japanese, have set up operations there, forming a large concentration of automotive-related enterprises. With both Laem Chabang Port, already Thailand's largest port and being expanded further, and Suvarnabhumi International Airport nearby, the industrial estate enjoys outstanding access.
NL Thailand decided to construct this new facility to meet the full range of local customers' logistics needs, including air/ocean cargo forwarding, domestic sales transport, manufacturing logistics (just-in-time delivery), and cross-border truck transport.
Nippon Express is striving to strengthen its logistics functions in the South Asia Region, a promising area for future growth, to meet the total needs of customers and to further expand its own global logistics business.
