Nippon Express awarded visiting professor status by Beijing Wuzi University

Nippon Express Co., Ltd. (Mitsuru Saito, President), has been awarded visiting professor status by Beijing Wuzi University (BWU), an honor officially accepted from BWU Vice President He Mingke by President Mitsuru Saito during his visit to the university on November 7, 2019.

Founded in 1980, BWU is particularly well-known for its focus on logistics and distribution, and approximately 8,000 students are currently studying at its eight faculties and 25 departments.

BWU's Logistics Research Center, established in 2006, offers robust educational facilities and an exceptional research environment, and is one of China's best faculties specializing in logistics.

Nippon Express (China) Co., Ltd., signed a letter of intent on strategic collaboration with the Logistics Research Center in 2012, and has since been regularly engaged in industrial-academic collaboration with the Center. In addition to creating a Nippon Express Scholarship in 2014, Nippon Express (China) offers public lectures at the university every six months, with nine such lectures having been presented thus far.

Joint research efforts were launched in fiscal 2017 on introducing new technologies into the logistics space.

In acknowledging the honor awarded by BWU, President Saito remarked: "With numerous new technologies being introduced into logistics, our company is seeking to deepen its collaboration with Beijing Wuxi University through Nippon Express (China) and contribute to the development of China's logistics industry. Logistics is a key element in economic activity, and we hope to see students apply themselves to their studies and become outstanding personnel in the field of logistics."
