Nippon Express accepts student from Beijing Wuzi University

Nippon Express Co., Ltd. (Mitsuru Saito, President) recently accepted students from Beijing Wuzi University for a five-day training program in Japan from Monday, April 15 to Friday, April 19.

In October 2014, Nippon Express (China) Co., Ltd. (Tatsuo Sugiyama, Chairman; hereinafter, "NE China"), established a "Nittsu Scholarship Fund" with Beijing Wuzi University, known for its education in the areas of logistics and distribution, and has subsequently continued to pursue industrial-academic collaboration by, for instance, accepting students as interns and holding open lectures at the university. Last November, a "Nippon Express Logistics Seminar" was launched as a new endeavor, and this month's training program, in which ten students participated, was conducted as part of the seminar.

In the course of this training, the students were briefed on Nippon Express' business activities, attended lectures on the Company's cutting-edge logistics technology and on its safety and quality efforts, visited air cargo facilities at Narita Airport and other operational locations, and enjoyed an onboard tour of one of Nippon Express' coastal vessels.

Typical of the feedback received from the students was this: "I am very grateful to have been given this opportunity to train in Japan. I benefited very much from the training, learning things that I could never have learned in my university classes. I hope to make this valuable experience part of a dedicated career in logistics that proves useful to the rest of society."

Nippon Express remains committed to undertaking these and other social contribution activities to assist in the training of personnel capable of playing active roles in the global logistics industry.
