Notes on Moving

It is important that the amount of belongings that you wish to transport falls within your budget and regulations of your destination. Please give us a rough estimate of what you are looking for during the assessment.

Please be aware that transporting certain items into overseas is prohibited or restricted, and that certain items may be taxed or cannot be transferred as belongings in a move.

• Examples of items that cannot be brought into Japan
  copied merchandise, items subject to regulation under the Washington Convention, items that violate the Swords and Firearms Control Law
• Examples of items that cannot be transferred
  spray cans, portable gas stoves, aroma oil and other items with displays stating that they are flammable

*Be aware of items subject to customs duties (for example: Japan)
(200 or more cigarettes, 750 ml of wine or the equivalent of three or more bottles, newly purchased furniture in excess of 200,000 JPY, etc.)

Nippon Express staffs and our service partners are careful and professional in their approach to minimizing the risks of loss and damage on your shipment. However, it is important to recognize that there are still risks during transit. This is why we recommend that you protect your consignment properly with Nippon Express Insurance Policy.

Once your belongings are transferred into our care, they can arrive at your home in Overseas after around a few weeks via sea freight, or around 1-2 weeks via air freight. Please be aware that a bit more time may be required because of the day that you return to Overseas or the day that belongings are shipped or received (holidays and long weekends).
