The fuel index used for calculation can be found on the website of the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA).

Pick Up & Delivery Service as part of International Air Freight Forwarding

With the current geopolitical situation affecting the Middle East, including Iran, is resulting in rapidly increasing fuel costs. Starting from March 25, 2026 until further notice, we will be updating the Fuel Surcharge that is calculated as a percentage of pick-up and delivery fees on a weekly basis.

The Fuel Index for U.S. On-Highway Diesel Fuel Prices of the previous Monday will determine the percentage to be applied based on the below chart. The fuel index, published by the Energy Information Administration of the U.S. Department of Energy, is available through their web site at Energy Information Administration.

The first Fuel Surcharge under this new timing will be based on the index dated 03/23/26 and go into effect starting March 25 through April 5, 2026. From April 6, 2026 onwards, the Fuel Surcharge will be based on the Fuel Index from the previous Monday and be effective from Monday through Sunday of each week.

Fuel surcharge for land transportation

Rates are determined based on the average diesel fuel price announced weekly by the U.S. Department of Energy each Monday, and the applicable rate is effective from the following Tuesday through the next Monday.

Ocean transportation surcharge

Nippon Express Group Ocean Cargo Division passes on surcharges imposed by carriers and port authorities. As required by these conditions, and in compliance with FMC regulations, Nippon Express USA Ocean Cargo Division publishes the corresponding rate adjustments in its applicable tariffs.
