SeaPak / Mini Pack
Seapack and Minipack are services where we pack all of your belongings for you.
Sea Pack is an inexpensive and simple door-to-door sea freight service to Japan, with pricing set for small shipments of up to 0.8m³ and Mini Pack up to 0.4m³.

- Procedures exceeding the normal scope of service, animal and plant quarantine fees, food inspection fees
- Storage fees in case of long-term storage
- Overtime work fee

Documents based on Australian domestic law and Japanese laws and regulations are required.
You will need documents to clear customs as part of your moving shipment. However, NX will handle the customs clearance procedures.

Pack it securely.
Your cargo will be transported over long distances by aircraft, trucks, and other means. During transport, it may be exposed to vibrations, shocks, significant temperature and humidity changes due to climate and environment, and sometimes even theft. Therefore, optimal packaging that takes your cargo's safety into consideration is necessary.

Import taxes (customs duties and domestic consumption tax) may apply to certain items, and some items may be prohibited or restricted.
There are items that are prohibited or restricted from being taken out of Australia, and items that are prohibited or restricted from being imported into Japan.
Additionally, depending on the item, import taxes (customs duties and domestic consumption tax) and special fees may apply.

It is important to insure your belongings.
To minimize losses in the event of an accident involving your valuable belongings, we recommend declaring a price that reflects the amount you can afford to replace them with.

1. Confirmation of customs clearance procedures
Even moving belongings may be subject to import taxes (customs duties and domestic consumption tax) or prohibited from import according to the law. If you have any questions, please contact NX Australia.
We do not accept the following items.
Narcotics, stimulants, smoking paraphernalia and equipment, poppy seeds, cannabis seeds, and poisons.
Swords, handguns, replica handguns, weapons, ammunition, explosives, hazardous materials (aerosols, matches, benzene, paint thinner, oxidizing agents, etc.)
Counterfeit, altered, or imitation currency, bonds, and securities.
Letters, pornographic products (magazines, videotapes, photographs, etc.)
Products that infringe on trademark rights, patent rights, copyrights, etc.
Items covered by the Washington Convention, plants (with soil attached), and seeds.
Pharmaceuticals, dairy products, meat, fresh food products
Precious metals, jewelry
Computers and other precision machinery

2. NX International Moving Cardboard Boxes
With Seapack/Minipack, we will send you special international moving boxes in advance, as you will be responsible for packing all your belongings yourself. Alternatively, you may use your own boxes.
If you require NX packaging for fragile items, we can accommodate this for an additional fee. Please contact us for details.

3. Pack your belongings
Within the specified capacity limits for each of the Sea Pack/Mini Pack (0.8m³ / 0.4m³), you can combine S, M, and L sizes of international moving boxes in any way you like. If you are providing your own boxes, please ensure that the sum of the three sides is within 170cm, with no single side measuring 170cm or less.
For suitcases, please leave them unlocked for customs inspection. The weight limit per suitcase is 25kg.
Packing method

- Pack heavy items in small cardboard boxes and light items in large cardboard boxes.
- Please fill the bottom and top of the cardboard box with something to act as cushioning.
- Fragile items should be carefully wrapped individually in soft paper or bubble wrap.
- Please pack flat items such as plates vertically.
- Please make sure there are no gaps inside the cardboard box.
- Once you've finished packing, please write the following case mark in bold on a clearly visible location on the outside of the cardboard box. Please write "FRAGILE" on cardboard boxes containing fragile items.

4. Preparation of necessary documents
Even if your belongings are moving to Japan, customs procedures are required. We will handle the customs declaration for you, but you will need to fill out a single pack application form for this process. Please have the application form ready by the day your belongings are to be picked up.
The Single Pack Application Form is a required document for customs clearance, and also serves as a transportation contract and export customs clearance power of attorney between you and us. We will transport your goods based on this contract, so please fill it out carefully.

How to fill out the single pack application form
- Please select SEA PAK (sea freight) for both Sea Pack and Mini Pack. For volumes of 0.4 m³ or less, you will automatically be charged the Mini Pack rate.
- Please enter your name and delivery address. Please also be sure to include a phone number where you can be reached during the day.
- After packing, please write the case mark number you indicated on the side of the box.
- Please fill in the contents description as accurately as possible. "Household goods" is not acceptable.
- Please fill in the quantity accurately, just like the product name.
- The declared value of your luggage is important for procedural purposes in the event of an accident, so please fill it out carefully, using the amount you can realistically replace as a guideline. Also, please be sure to enter the total amount. Please note that we cannot accept luggage exceeding A$5,000 via SeaPak/MiniPak.
- Please enter your planned arrival date in Japan and the airport you will arrive at.
- Please specify the number of cardboard boxes.
- Please sign here. In the application date field, please enter the date you wish to pick up the item.
5. Picking up your luggage
We will pick up the cardboard boxes that you have packed yourself. Please mark the boxes with a case mark and seal them before our staff arrives at your home. Also, please have your identification ready as you will be required to present it according to Australian security regulations.
Please note that we are closed on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays.
6. Payment
Payment for Sea Pack/Mini Pack will be due upon pickup of your luggage. Payment can be made by bank transfer or credit card (VISA or Mastercard). Please note that we cannot accept cash or personal checks.
Please note that a handling fee will be charged separately for credit card payments.
Please be aware that additional charges may apply to shipments exceeding the duty-free allowance, including taxes (customs duties and domestic consumption tax), animal and plant quarantine fees, food inspection fees, and other charges based on the quotation conditions. In such cases, NX Japan will issue an additional invoice.
7. Arrival notification and arrangements for package delivery.
NX Japan will call you at the contact number you provided on the single pack application form to provide information about the necessary documents for import customs clearance and to arrange a delivery date for your shipment.
If you have not submitted the unaccompanied baggage declaration form that you submitted upon entering Japan to our unaccompanied baggage declaration form reception counter, you will need to mail it to NX along with other necessary documents such as a copy of your passport. 8. Delivery of your package
We will arrange a meeting in advance and deliver your package on the specified date. As a general rule, delivery will be made to your doorstep.
If taxes (customs duties, domestic consumption tax, etc.) are incurred during import customs clearance, you will be required to pay them upon delivery of your goods.
If your package is damaged after delivery, please contact the delivery branch.
However, we cannot provide compensation for items not listed on the single pack application form. Also, please note that the declared value you enter on the application form will be the maximum amount of insurance payment.
Please note that claims for damages must be made within one month of the delivery of your package.
