Important points to consider when moving (Japan)

There are items that are prohibited from being imported or stored.

Please note that some items are prohibited or restricted from being brought into Japan, cannot be accepted as moving goods, or are subject to taxation. Please prepare your belongings accordingly.

• Prohibited import items = items whose import is prohibited by law.
  Examples include obscene magazines, obscene DVDs, child pornography, and other obscene materials (including data).
  Counterfeit goods such as watches and designer bags, and other items that infringe on intellectual property rights.
• Prohibited items = Items that cannot be accepted as moving goods.
  Examples: Cash, credit cards, bankbooks, securities
  Jewelry (including jewelry such as rings and necklaces), precious metals, expensive watches, and expensive accessories.
  Prescription drugs
• Import restrictions apply to certain products.
  Examples: Persons covered by the Washington Convention, certain foods, and certain substances regulated by the Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Act (formerly the Pharmaceutical Affairs Act).

Please refer to the following items when sorting your belongings and help us prepare in advance.

• Passports, airline tickets, jewelry, precious metals, expensive ornaments, coins, banknotes, currency
• Stock certificates, bonds, securities, sanitized passbooks, laptop computers, portable precision devices

Don't forget to check beforehand to make sure that any owner-owned items or belongings don't get mixed up with your moving boxes.

It is important to insure your belongings.

We will handle your valuable cargo with the utmost care to ensure it is safe and trouble-free, but insurance is also an important consideration in case of unforeseen circumstances. You will be asked to fill in the insurance amount on the packing list required for customs clearance of your cargo.

You must declare this information upon returning to your home country.

For customs clearance of your luggage, you will be required to submit a "Declaration of Unaccompanied Baggage" at your arrival airport upon your return to Japan. Further details will be provided during your inspection.

Receiving in Japan

Once we receive your luggage, it will take approximately 3 weeks by sea freight and approximately 1 week by air freight to be delivered to your home in Japan. Please note that depending on your return date and the calendar (public holidays and consecutive holidays) in your departure and arrival locations, it may take longer than the above-mentioned days.
