End-to-End International Transportation of Large-Scale Energy Storage Systems
Designing and executing transportation solutions tailored to the specific requirements of dangerous goods and heavy cargo.

Customer:Energy storage system manufacturers / Engineering companies
Challenge (Before)
Grid-scale energy storage systems have been increasing year by year and are often transported in specially designed dedicated containers. In many cases, the equipment includes items classified as dangerous goods, making it difficult to handle through standard transportation arrangements.
In addition, transportation routes, installation environments, available vehicles, and local cargo handling conditions vary significantly from project to project. This resulted in a wide range of complex considerations, including packaging methods, arrangement of specialized vehicles, compliance with applicable regulations, and coordination with on-site operations. As a result, developing a comprehensive, end-to-end transportation plan was itself a major challenge.
Solutions
NX Solution
- Conducted in-depth consultations with the customer to design a transportation plan based on cargo characteristics, destination, and installation environment.
- Selected the optimal transportation mode—either conventional vessels or container ships—and identified suitable ports by leveraging the NX Group’s global network and expertise.
- Chose appropriate vehicles such as reinforced chassis and low-bed trailers to ensure the safe transportation of heavy and over-dimensional cargo.
- For equipment classified as dangerous goods, confirmed applicable regulatory requirements and managed the preparation of necessary documentation and inspections.
- Managed transportation in an integrated manner, including coordination with ports, relevant authorities, and other stakeholders, while anticipating local cargo handling and installation operations.
