Optimizing Apparel Logistics through Cross-border Buyers’ Consolidation
An integrated operation leveraging bonded warehouses to streamline customs clearance, sorting, and store-specific distribution.

Customer:Apparel Manufacturer
Challenge (Before)
The customer procured products from suppliers distributed across multiple countries and regions. Arranging transportation individually for each shipment not only led to increased transportation costs but also made it difficult to centrally manage cargo location and status, hindering end-to-end traceability.
In addition, cross-border transportation involved numerous processes—such as customs clearance, transshipment, sorting, and store-specific packing—which resulted in extended lead times and increased operational workload.
Solutions
NX Solution
- Established a logistics framework that consolidates cargo from multiple suppliers into a single country by utilizing bonded warehouses and CFS facilities.
- At the bonded warehouse, NX handled a full range of operations, including devanning, inbound/outbound management using RFID, outer packaging inspection, storage, case picking, and store-specific re-packing.
- Documentation preparation, customs declaration, booking, and tracking were managed in an integrated manner to streamline transportation operations.
- Consolidated cargo was shipped as FCL (Full Container Load), reducing both transportation costs and the risk of damage compared with LCL shipments.

Benefits
Benefits (Results)
By consolidating products from multiple sourcing locations at a bonded warehouse and shifting to FCL transportation, the customer achieved a significant reduction in international transportation costs while ensuring full traceability.
RFID-based inbound/outbound control and tracking improved operational speed and inventory accuracy, enabling centralized visibility of cargo status.
Furthermore, performing sorting and re-packing operations within the bonded warehouse reduced workload at the destination and shortened overall lead times.
As a result, NX established an end-to-end logistics operation capable of efficiently managing the complexities inherent in global apparel logistics.
