cardboard box size
This article introduces the types of cardboard boxes used for international moves, examples of what to pack inside, and guidelines for volume and weight.
There are a total of six types of cardboard boxes for international moves.
For items that don't fit in a box, we modify the box to change its shape, or use cardboard sheets or corrugated cardboard rolls for packaging.
The following list can be used as a reference when packing items yourself, or as a guideline if your company has weight restrictions.
Shipping by sea: Volume:
For sea freight shipments, we will apply outer packaging after packing. For details on outer packaging, please refer to the page "Taiwan to Overseas - Moving Day (Packing) - Outer Packaging Work (Sea Freight)".
Airmail Weight:
There are two methods for calculating the weight of air cargo.
One is the "actual weight" measured on a scale, and the other is the "volumetric weight" calculated from the volume of the box.
Airlines will charge you based on the heavier of the two weights. Even if an item is light, if it's bulky—for example, if it fits in an LL-sized box—you'll be charged 30kgs.
