NX Logistics Thailand signs MOU with Thai Bridgestone Co., Ltd. on sustainability and CSR collaboration
Nippon Express Logistics (Thailand) Co., Ltd. (President: Masato Tanabe; hereinafter “NX Logistics Thailand”), a group company of NIPPON EXPRESS HOLDINGS, INC. (President: Satoshi Horikiri), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on sustainability and corporate social responsibility collaboration with Thai Bridgestone Co., Ltd. (Managing Director: Akihito Ishii) on Wednesday, June 17. Through this collaboration, the two companies will work on proper used tire management and the promotion of resource circulation, road safety awareness activities, and nature conservation initiatives, thereby contributing to the resolution of social and environmental issues throughout the value chain and the realization of a sustainable society.

■Background
The NX Group is strengthening its efforts to address environmental issues while striving to realize a sustainable society through community-based social contribution activities as it works toward its long-term vision of becoming a “logistics company with a strong presence in the global market.”
NX Logistics Thailand and Thai Bridgestone Co., Ltd. have already built a cooperative relationship in the field of logistics. This MOU is intended to further develop that relationship by leveraging the strengths of both companies and pursuing both business growth and social contribution. At a time when responding to climate change and resource management is becoming increasingly important for companies, the two companies will combine Thai Bridgestone Co., Ltd.’s tire technologies with NX Logistics Thailand’s logistics functions to promote more effective initiatives.
■Details of the collaboration
This collaboration focuses on the proper, safe, and environmentally responsible management of used tires by returning end-of-life tires to the recycling process under the concept of a Circular Economy. Retreadable tires will be utilized as retreads, while end-of-life tires will be sent to appropriate recycling processes, thereby helping prevent improper reuse, ensure safety, and reduce environmental impact.
The partnership also includes joint efforts to study and develop approaches such as analyzing tire conditions and the causes of tire removal, with the aim of enhancing tire utilization efficiency, extending tire lifespan, and improving retread suitability.
In addition, as part of their CSR activities, the two companies plan to work on the “B-SAFE” road safety awareness program in collaboration with the Saraburi Branch of the Department of Land Transport, as well as nature conservation and biodiversity conservation activities at Phu Khae Botanical Garden. Through these initiatives, they aim to contribute to local communities and help realize a sustainable society.
The NX Group will continue leveraging its global network and logistics know-how to work together with customers and partners to help build sustainable supply chains and solve social issues.
