Electronics purchased in Taiwan
We generally do not recommend using electrical appliances purchased in Taiwan, such as hair dryers, microwave ovens, vacuum cleaners, or irons that generate heat, in Japan.
If you still wish to take it home, we recommend using a voltage transformer. First, check the voltage listed under "INPUT" in the specifications of your electrical appliance. If it says 110V, you will need a step-up transformer. Please choose one that matches the power consumption (W) of your electrical appliance.
(Electrical appliances that use motors and generate heat require transformers with two to three times the capacity.)
Pay attention to the frequency as well!
The frequency in Taiwan is 60Hz, but the frequency in eastern Japan is 50Hz. If you have an electrical appliance that uses a motor or has a timer function and is labeled as 60Hz, it may not function properly or may malfunction in eastern Japan!
