As a logistics partner, our Quality System has been established to ensure our commitment to our customers by providing the highest quality transportation, customs brokerage, household goods, and warehouse distribution services. Customer Satisfaction is our first priority and our goal is to provide accurate documentation services, reliable pick-up, handling and delivery commitments at competitive prices, while meeting customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.

We are committed to the development of trained and qualified staff who provide our customers with the expertise to do business both internationally and domestically with the benefit of superior and accurate transportation, customs brokerage, household goods, and warehouse distribution services.

To ensure this commitment to our customers, we have implemented a Quality System based on the ISO 9001:2015, AS9120B, and WHO GDP International Standards. It is the President’s directive that all employees involved in our transportation, customs brokerage, household goods and warehouse distribution services follow the processes for doing business as outlined in our quality manuals as applicable to promote the continual improvement of our quality management activities.


Nippon Express is committed to protecting every shipment its handles from theft, pilferage, tampering and threats from terrorists. Because Nippon Express has worldwide operations, it actively participates in government and industry programs to comply with specific requirements to enhance security and to speed the transit of shipments through regulatory controls. Four security programs of interest to U.S. importers and exporters include:

Site Security

All Nippon Express facilities employ state-of-the-art physical security starting with perimeter fences, lighted exteriors, and locked access points monitored by closed circuit camera and security guards. Access is controlled with electronic controls requiring positive identification. International freight requiring customs control are fenced-in within warehouse areas. High-value are caged. Dangerous goods are segregated from other cargo.

Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT)

In April, 2004, Nippon Express received it’s Status Verification Interface Participant (SVIP#) from US Customs and Border Protection, recognizing our commitment to strengthening our worldwide network in the areas of:

  • Physical Security and access control
  • In transit freight security
  • Documentation compliance
  • Personnel screening
  • On-going security education and training

Nippon Express has since been recognized as a validated member of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s program, Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism “C-TPAT”. C-TPAT is a voluntary security program implemented by U.S. Customs initiative, and was the direct result of the aftermath of the 9-11 terrorist attacks in order to combat the imminent threat to terrorism. The program is a government – business joint initiative to build cooperative relationships to strengthen overall supply chain and border security.

Cargo Security

From the moment Nippon Express accepts customer’s freight for ocean or air transport, the cargo is barcoded and monitored as it passes through each step of the shipment’s journey. Containers are sealed, the numbers notated on shipping documents and the shipments checked at key gateway points for any sign of tampering. In the event customs inspections are required, shipments are checked by Nippon Express personnel and re-sealed.

Transported Asset Protection Association (TAPA)

Twenty worldwide Nippon Express locations are certified in A-Level Freight Security Requirements implemented by the Transported Asset Protection Association (TAPA),

Established in 1997, TAPA is a non-profit organization consisting of security experts and security personnel from high tech companies and consumer electronics makers. The TAPA requirements are known worldwide as some of the highest standards of security and safety practice. More companies, especially those related to high tech industries, have been required to satisfy TAPA requirements in order to reduce or prevent theft in transit and other security threats common to the technology industry.In addition to the formally certified locations, Nippon Express USA, Inc. has adopted TAPA-recognized Best Security Practices for the care and handling of high-tech freight and carries those practices into the security measures implemented in all stations.
